3 amazing movies I saw this week

one of my favorite movies of all time, combined with Before Sunset. I think it says a lot about me that I also think they may be the most romantic movies I've ever seen. 

Getting Crunched by Guy

If I had to name my most favorite teen movie of ALL TIME it would definitely be Never Been Kissed. Oh. Em. Gee. I can still quote practically every single line from the movie, meaning you probably wouldn't want to watch it with me if it's your first time. I mean, what's not to love?!? Awkward teenage stories, special pot cake, an inappropriate crush from Sam Coulson (played by teenage mega crush Michael Vartan) on high school student Josie Geller, a hilarious sex-ed scene complete with cuteness, bananas, and penguins. Despite PR flubs from Netflix, I love the fact that I can now stream this movie on Instant. Of course that means I would never watch this movie twice. In the past two days. Nope, not me. But seriously, if you've never seen this movie before, I highly recommend watching it ASAP. You will not regret it. And if you need some extra convincing...

So ridiculous. But let's be real, I'll see the last one when it comes out.

Clearly I have Something Due...

Last night I watched 50/50, which was as good as I thought it would be. Many people have an indescribable thing against Seth Rogan, but personally I adore him and his seriously nerd-tastic laugh. This film is based on a script written by Rogan and his friend Will Rieser, who is the actual motivation behind Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character Adam. I highly recommend watching this with friends and a box of tissues. It's odd to be crying and laughing at the same time, but this movie will definitely put you through the ringer. It was worth it though.

Actually I have a review due tomorrow and an assessment in my palaeography class. Boo to timed assessment. I seem to be on a medical drama kick recently, because the last movie I saw in the theater was Contagion and I am almost caught up on House. I definitely feel more like a hypochondriac than usual. Oh lordy.

Fright Night

I've never seen the original, but the remake is simultaniously scary and hilarious. David Tennant (swoon) brushes off his Doctor accent and is absolutely fantastic in this movie. And just for fun...

NOM.

It's Kind of a Funny Story

Recommended, but not Couch approved.  Interesting, entertaining, but I expected more. Zach Galifianakis is very good in this serious role.

Movie Trailer Time

I'll say it out loud. I can't stand the Disney version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Why? I think the story is lame. I mean, you have this girl who finds a messy house so her first thought is to clean it up. Then her only means of being saved is for some prince to kiss her and they live happily ever after. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good Disney movie but I just can't bring myself to like Snow White. At least not the Disney version.



I've been hearing about the KStew playing this badass Snow White for a while now. I wasn't really sure what to think since I'm not particularly a huge fan of KStew. I do want her clothes, but I digress. I'm actually excited to see this when it come out in theaters. It looks pretty badass and all sorts of awesome, which is completely different from the Disney version. I'll admit that I am also a tad bit curious about the other Snow White movie due to come out soon-ish. Just a tad.

Letters to Juliet

This usually isn't my choice of movie to watch alone...but you see, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero are in this movie.  Let me tell you a little about them...they met during the filming of the movie Camelot in 1967, fell madly in love, and had a son.  Tragically, they separated for many years, had relationships with other people, but then REUNITED AND GOT MARRIED (in 2006!).  Guys...their love story in the movie is just too close to real life to make even this viewer feel cynical.  And they are adorable in this movie. And Amanda Seyfried and the British guy who is actually Australian are adorable as well.  Only freaks dislike Gael Garcia Bernal (although I was confused as to where was supposed to be from in this movie...I figured he was supposed to be from Spain? but in reality he's from Mexico...so I dunno. He was pretending to be Italian for most of it and I liked it)

Drive Me Crazy

New on Netflix instant watch! A young, cute Adrien Grenier (pre-Entourage), Melissa Joan Hart post Clarissa and Sabrina, it involves a male-makeover, and it's named after a Britney Spears song. Can't get better than this. I honestly reactivated my Instant Watch on Netflix to watch this movie a billion times.

Speaking of Fassbender...

(And one should always speak of Fassbender) I can't wait for this movie to come out in theaters. The trailer definitely looks intriguing.

the bad parts of this movie: JANUARY JONES...so annoying. Get out of here

the confusing part: does Kevin Bacon have a painting of him that's aging somewhere? Why is Michael Fassbender dating Zoe Kravitz? (is that still on? I read that she's with Penn Badgely, aka Dan from Gossip Girl. Fassbender can do so much better)

Happy Halloween! In honor of this great excuse holiday for eating copious amounts of chocolate and candy, I present to you my Halloween movie choice of the night:
What's not to love?!?! Old school Christina Ricci, funny ghosts, and (obvi) Devon Sawa. "Can I keep you?" *swoon* Happy Trick or Treating! I hope you go to the neighborhoods where they hand out the good chocolate!

Hitting Up Flicks from the 80s.

Real Genius, with a very nerdy and adorable Val Kilmer, is an underrated film. It's a bit like the Big Bang Theory meets the Gilmore Girls, so get ready for some witty repartee and dated pop cultural references. It was the perfect movie to watch while making my flash cards for Medieval Latin.

So Apparently I'm a Masochist...

I purposely watched P.S. I Love You tonight knowing full well just how this movie makes me feel every single time. I saw this movie for the first time with Tom when it came out in theaters, and I laughed and cried intermittently every 5 minutes throughout the entire thing. When we got back in the car I broke down and bawled some more in the parking lot. I didn't know any one person could hold such a huge amount of tears in her tear ducts. I made Tom switch places with me to drive us back home because I was a hot mess. I don't normally cry again when I watch sad movies because I know what to expect. This is an exception. I still laugh and cry every 5 minutes. And I still want to go to Ireland.
